How To Use It

The Online Activity Manager

The Online Activity Manager is the website component of the Ki Fit System.

It enables you to:

  • Sync and view your armband data
  • Log your meals
  • Review your results
  • Track your progress over time

Follow the steps described below and
you’ll be able to get the most out of
your Ki Fit System.

The Online Activity Manager Summary Screen

Step 1. Complete your profile and set your goals

Settings Page

User Profile
Enter your personal information during set-up to ensure that the armband is calibrated and tailored to your specific body type.

Goals
Choose your goal and set a target weight if appropriate. If you select the 'I want to manage my weight' option you also need to answer a few questions about your recent activity levels and any changes in weight, so that the system can calculate appropriate targets for you.

Targets
Set your physical activity and steps targets and manually change your calories burned and calories consumed targets if necessary.

Preferences
Choose whether you want to log your meals for each day, carry out a 3-day Nutrition Assessment to calculate an average daily calorie intake, or enter your calories consumed figures manually (useful if you calculate your calorie intake by another means).
Select the units you want your data to be displayed in.

Step 2. Upload and enter your data

Syncing the Armband

  • Remove the Armband from your arm and remove the monitor from the strap and frame.
  • Insert the USB cable into your computer and then into the USB port on the side of the monitor.
  • The SYNC software will detect when you have connected your armband to your computer and prompt you to log into your account (you can set the software to remember these details).
  • The software will automatically launch the Activity Manager and upload your latest data.

Viewing Data
Once the armband has been uploaded via SYNC, your data can be viewed within the Activity Manager. The SYNC software makes it easy to view the data with quick launch buttons and preference settings that allow you to launch automatically into the Activity Manager.

Setting Preferences
To change configurable behaviours click on the SYNC icon located in your system tray and select 'Preferences' from the popup menu.

Nutrition Page

Meal Logging (default setting)

  • Log your meals for each day, choosing from thousands of items within the UK food database.
  • Begin to type the name of a food or drink in the 'Search Foods' box and a list of matching items will be displayed.
  • Choose the item you want to add to your meal from the list below and adjust the serving size.

  • Add your own custom foods if you can’t find what you need, or 'create recipes’ from multiple foods.
  • After using the database for a while, the system learns your most commonly chosen items and places these at the top of the list for each meal, making it easier and quicker to log your meals.

Day Estimating (make this your default setting by going to ‘Settings' > 'Preferences' and selecting 'Day Estimating')

  • Estimate calorie consumption for days that you miss, using average 'calories consumed' figures from your past data.
  • Enter self-calculated daily calorie totals if you are using a food logging system outside of the Ki Fit system.

Nutrition Assessment (make this your default setting by going to ‘Settings' > 'Preferences' and selecting 'Nutrition Assessment')

  • Log your meals over three days of your choice, ideally spread through the week.
  • Add food and drink items from the UK food database as for ‘Meal Logging’ above.
  • Receive your ‘average’ nutritional intake information at the end of the 3 days.
  • Use your 3-day average calories consumed on the Summary Page, to compare to your daily calories burned data.
  • Repeat this assessment as many times as you like.

Step 3. Review your results

Summary tab

  • Review your calories burned, calories consumed and calorie balance.
  • See how many steps you’ve taken and how much physical activity you’ve done.
  • Check your sleep efficiency.
  • Compare your targets to your ‘actual’ to see whether you’re on track to meet your goals.

  • Click on the down arrow beside each section to see more detail.

  • Learn more about the content of your diet; view values for carbohydrates, protein, fat, alcohol, sodium, fibre and a wide range of vitamins and minerals.

  • Calculate calories burned during exercise sessions or other specific periods of the day using the sliding buttons on the calories burned graph.

  • View data for today, yesterday and specific or multiple days using the calendar function. Click on the 'specific days' button to select the date range you require.
